Mind Shifting experience at vodQA of ThoughtWorks

In this mediocre corporate world, where people are reluctant to share knowledge, some heroes from ThoughtWorks, Pune decided to break this rule and arranged  the most awaited Agile Testing workshop to share world class ideas.

The event consisted of various topics as well as Question and Answer session. My Favorite topic turned out to be Test Automation - Principles and Practices.

The session started with asking questions from the participants, what are important points that should be considered during Test Automation.

After getting feedback from the participants, more points missed by participants were discussed and added to the mind map and it looked great:

Another fun and learn session that I found interesting was Testing the Mysterious Sphere where I personally got the opportunity to be a part of it and then was asked to test a product without any relevant information which led to some interesting discussion and followed by a great learning lesson that will last for a lifetime.

Some of the statements that I noted down and worth remembering during the workshop were:

  • Quality is a team responsibility.
  • If you are preventing more defects than finding them then your testing makes more sense.
  • Quality is just not about Software but also about people, processes that we follow and technology we use.

I had many queries regarding test automation, the processes that need to be followed for test automation and most of them were resolved happily by the ThoughtWorkers.

I really need to thank Anand Bagmar, Prasad Kalgutkar, Vikrant Chauhan, Ashwini Ingle, Anjali Wadhwa, Preety Mishra, Vardhan Bhatt, Amit Gundiyal and the entire ThoughtWorks team for arranging such a great workshop.
